What is Melody Maker?
Melody Maker gives every letter its own musical note. As a child spells a word, they build a small tune, and they can play back the tune so far at any point. Words they have spelled can then be strung together into a longer song.
The notes come from a musical scale, so any combination of letters sounds pleasant. It is a gentle, creative way to practise, well suited to children who respond to sound and music. Like the other games it uses the same word list, hints and progress tracking.
How to play
- Press Start so your device can play words and notes.
- Listen to the word, then choose letters to spell it.
- Press Tune to hear the notes you have so far.
- Keep going to build a whole song from your words.
