What is Snake Spell?
Snake Spell turns spelling into a classic snake game. The word and its sentence are read aloud, then the snake has to eat the word's letters in the correct order on the board before a countdown that scales with word length. Walls wrap around, and running into your own body is harmless, so the challenge is the spelling, not the snake.
Every letter tile on the board looks the same, so nothing shows which one is right. Children can eat any letter, remove a mistake by tapping the placed letter, or use Clear to try again. The word is checked when they press Check, when time runs out, or when they have finished and stopped moving for a few seconds.
Snake Spell also feeds a Snake Speedrun ranking: the fastest Daily Challenge rounds with at least 95% correct, ranked per class year by active play time (reading aloud and tips don't count against the clock).
How to play
- Press Start and listen to the word and sentence.
- Steer the snake with the arrow keys or the on-screen pad.
- Eat letters in spelling order; tap a placed letter to remove it.
- Press Check, or let it finish by itself.

Snake Spell questions
Will a wrong letter end the round?
No. Any letter can be eaten, and it only counts as right or wrong when the word is checked.
Is it too fast for young children?
The snake moves at a steady pace and time limits grow with word length. Free Practice has no ranking pressure.
What is the Snake Speedrun board?
A per-year ranking of the fastest Daily Challenge Snake rounds with at least 95% correct, using active play time only.
